Sparrowtail padded up to Icepaw, she admired the apprentice for being able to cope with all these hard times.
"Do you want to go hunting with me, Icepaw?" Sparrowtail asked her, hoping she would say yes.

Icepaw looked at Sparrowtail and stood up. Sure She replied quickly. Her tail flicked excitedly

"Then lets go," Sparrowtail said as she started to trot out of camp. Once they were halfway to the river she stopped and sniffed the air.
"Do you smell anything?" she questioned the apprentice as she picked up the scent of shrew. |

She followed and scented the air when Sparrowtail asked her if she scented anything. Yeah Shrew She replied simply. She scanned the area for it.

"Very good," she said proudly, "It is important to also learn how to hunt other things besides fish because water isn't found everywhere. Watch me."
Sparrowtail looked around the clearing and spotted a bush that was moving. She crouched down and flattened herself to the ground, making sure her tail was low but not touching the ground. Once she was a few tail lengths away she leaped into the air and pounced on the shrew, killing it with a swift bite to the neck.
"Did you see how I crouched down? I didn't let me tail drag along the ground because shrews have sensitive hearing and could have heard me. I also put my paws down lightly so I didn't make any vibrations," Sparrowtail explained though a mouth of fur as she padded back to Icepaw.

Icepaw felt irritation burn through her fur, Just shake your head and stay calm She thought to herself, I already know that and how to hunt other prey than fish. She said trying to keep the irritation out of her voice but failing.

Sparrowtail laughed at herself, "You could have told me that," she smiled, trying to keep the good mood. "Do you want to hunt or do you want to learn the basics of fighting.. unless you've already learned them," Sparrowtail said, trying to give Icepaw some options.

"It's okay," Sparrowtail started softly, "You've been through a lot and no one should blame you for your past. I know some of what your feeling right now since I grew up in Shadowclan but then moved to Riverclan with my mother. Some cats still don't respect me and think that I don't deserve to be Deputy, but I worked hard and proved my loyalty to the clan and I know that my place is Deputy." She noticed her voice was rising so she brought it back down to a softer tone, "If you want advice or just someone to talk to I'm always here for you," Sparrowtail smiled then slowly started making her way to the Practice Clearing.

So you watched your parents murdered by rogues and then no one care a mouses tail about you? She asked venom in her voice as she glared at the deputy. She looked away, No one will ever know how I feel Her claws flexed angrily

"I said some of what you're feeling , not all," Sparrowtail said with a sharp tone, "Icepaw, this is not how you earn respect from your clan. I know what you've been through and you've had a rough past but you need to put that aside and start thinking and shaping your future! You could be Deputy of this clan one day, in my paws, if you think positively." Sparrowtail was really annoyed now.

She stood there silent not saying anymore. How can I think positively if no one bothers to help me? I had to learn how to hunt on my own She said miserably

"People have been trying to help you but you haven't been letting them," Sparrowtail said, trying to lower her voice so she wouldn't upset the apprentice again, "I'm trying to help you right now." She sighed and realized they were already at the Practice Clearing. "What moves do you already know?"
