Darkleaf stood in camp her green eyes flashed with anger. Why me! Why must I train him! She thought bitterly, Shadepaw we're going to train today! She called not caring if he heard or not

Hunting It was what she was good at so she figured they do that. She turned and looked at him, Do I have to show you how? She asked trying to keep the irritation out of her voice and not succeding

As his mentors obvious irritation dawned on him, Shadepaw felt the enthusiasm slowly draining out of him.
"No, I know how to hunt." He replied calmly.

Shadepaw felt suddenly nervous, and excited.
"Okay." He replied, dipping his head respectfully.
He parted his jaws and took in the scents of ShadowClan. He immediately smelled squirrel, and glanced around to hopefully spot the small creature.
When Shadepaw finally found the squirrels location, he pounced for it. It tried to run, but Shadepaw was too fast for it. He pounced on it and killed it. He looked up at his mentor, hoping she would be proud. It was a big squrriel, after all.

Disappointment washed over the young apprentice.
I didn't impress her. He thought sadly. He hid the squirrel under a tree, silently making a reminder to come back for it.
Then Shadepaw ran after his mentor, still disappointed.

Shadepaw's enthusiasm came back. He nodded at his mentor, and set off to hunt.
*later in the day, but still before sunhigh*
Shadepaw sighed, and rested for a moment. He had caught a squirrel and a frog, but he still ended another squirrel.
He tasted the air, and smelled the familiar scent of squirrel.
Shadepaw quickly located it, pounced on it, and killed it. His eyes glowed with pride at his own accomplishments. He looked around for his mentor.

Darkleaf felt something burn her pelt, Well done She said quietly and turned towards camp, Tomorrow me and Toxic will show you how to fight She walked off

Shadepaw layed down on a rock, satisfied now that he had, somewhat, impressed his mentor. His paws itched with anticipation for the next day.
I'll get to learn how to fight! He thought excitedly.
